I was born in 1977 in Great Falls, Montana. A mixed blood descendent of the Oglala, Lakota tribe, I was raised in western Montana and earned a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from the University of Montana in 2004. I learned beadwork at a very early age as well as hide tanning, sewing and traditional clothing design. Much of my work stems from a combination of traditional Native arts and modern art.
I consider my work to be narrative on many levels. There are times when I want to tell a very specific story and the pieces become narrative in tone. In other cases I am simply evoking emotional responses to basic elements such as shape and color. Nearly all of my work reflects the issues of politics, cultural identity and learning to live with the weight of the past.
I currently live in Tulsa, Oklahoma with my husband Tom and our three children.

You are very talented. Your work definately speaks for itself in many ways. I am a huge fan of the boxes and purses! I can’t wait to see more. I am very proud of you!
Dear Molly,
It was a pleasure to meet with you and feel your excited passion about what you do and share.
I would love for you to share this with the youth in the Arlee art program, so here are the details.
Wednesday from 4ish to 5:15
between 10-15 youth show up and I could divide up the class if distraction happens.
We finish the program at the end of April, so it is pushing it and then there is next year in Sept.
Let me know what help, info you need and I know you are busy. Also maybe something this summer for our camps and we may even do some down at Zootown.
Oh, all this is so fun.
Thank you,
Philippa
